ABSOLUTE CONTRAINDICATION OF ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE PILLS :
- carcinoma of breast and genitals
- cardiac abnormalities
- liver diseases , hepatoma or history of jaundice during past pregnancy
- undiagnosed uterine bleeding
- porphyria
- previous or present history of thromboembolism
- moderate to severe hypertension
- congenital hyperlipidemia
- impending major surgery to avoid post operative thromboembolism
RELATIVE CONTRAINDICATIONS OF ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE PILLS :
- amenorrhea
- age over 40 years
- bronchial asthma
- chronic renal disease
- depression and fluctuation of mood
- diabetes mellitus
- epilepsy
- fibroid
- gall bladder disease
- hypertension ( mild )
- infrequent bleeding history
- migraine
- mentally ill
- nursing mother in the first 6 months
- obesity
- smoking and age over 35 years
- varicosities
